Wills, Trusts and Estates is one of the
most complex and sometimes confusing areas of civil law.
This is especially true when the constantly changing tax
and regulatory issues are considered.
McLaughlin Law Offices has successfully
taken hundreds of clients through the process of assessing their
personal situation and developing a set of documents which sets
forth their wishes and protects their assets. Also groups
have been addressed on these documents.
Flat Rate for Will Packages
Will, Power of Attorney, and ‘Living
Will’ packages can be prepared for husbands and wives
for a flat rate of less than $500.
This service includes advice on estate planning,
assistance in drafting, preparation of all documents including
copies, witnesses for signing the Will, notarization of the
signatures and retaining a copy of your documents for at least
10 years so you can inexpensively alter the Will.
Individual Will packages are often prepared for less than
$250.
Other Drafting Services
Other services include the preparation of
Guardianships, the establishment of Living Trusts, establishing
Special Needs Trusts and preparing plans that avoid taxes at the
death of you or loved ones.
Medicaid-related liabilities are an
important aspect of estate planning and preservation for
succeeding generations. A strategy of gift and title transfers
made in advance of the need for long-term healthcare or
hospitalization can make a tremendous difference in the final
size of the available estate. If you desire to avoid the loss of
real estate and other property to the government, do not delay
in investigating the options.
For large estates and complex family
situations, a sensible strategy is initially developed by
gathering information and addressing personal goals and concerns. Once
this strategy has been developed, specialized practitioners can
be effectively engaged to implement the overall estate
plan.
Estate Administration
Once a person passes away, the probate
process begins. The
executor must gather up the assets, notify the beneficiaries and
creditors, advertise the estate, calculate and pay the taxes and
file the necessary papers and reports.
Sometimes this process involves litigation (Will
contests) or legal issues (creditor disputes) that require legal
advice. Many
executors hire an attorney to assist them in this entire
process. The office
handles small estates for as little as $1,850 plus costs on a
flat rate basis to assist the executor.
Larger estates or more comprehensive services can be
handled on a sliding scale percentage basis or on an hourly
basis if there is sufficient cash to post a retainer and pay the
bills as they are incurred.
Will, Trust and Estate matters are
regularly handled in Chester, Delaware and Montgomery Counties
of Pennsylvania.
Please note that all the fees stated above
are guidelines and not quotes.
The free initial telephone consultation will more fully
explain how the fees are set and what you can expect to pay in
fees and costs. An informed
decision can then be reached on how to proceed. |
